iPhone 2 will integrate a fast GPS chip [UPDATE]

Rumors are spreading about iPhone 2 version which should be launched in 2008 in the US.

It should be equipped with a GPS chip and antenna to enable support geolocalized services and applications.

The chip would be the SiRFstarIII from SiRF Technology: this chip can capture the signal form up to 20 satellites, which gives the competitive advantage to be better accurate and very fast positionning.

Additionally, the chip should support HSDPA networks with abandwidth of 1Mb/s, in Europe.

Rumors are getting bigger, with a probable anouncement during the january 2008 MacWorld Expo. This v2 iPhone is aimed to the European market. No plans are actually rumored for the American market.
