Apple share dramatically fell on tuesday

Apple share lost 6.8 % tuesday. And it still continues by the time of writing at $131.76.

The main reason would be the potential issue on the production for iPhones and iPods.

That said, it's worth to note that Apple share has grown of about 60% since late January.

During the financial results presentation last July 25, Apple said they sold an impressive 700 000 iPhones, forecasting 10 millions unts sold by end of 2008.

I doubt that the reason would be a decrease in volume of the produciton of iPhones or iPods.

I more likely think that there are two reasons:

  1. Firstly, as you mentioned above in your article, it's a technical reason: having earned 60% in value for 6 months, investors are likely to take their earnings, hence the "bear" attitude.
  2. Secondly, you must know that the american loan on real property market is about to suffer from very high difficulties. Yesterday, American Home Mortgage Investment Corp. admitted it was facing serious liquidity issues amid a flood of margin calls from lenders and has hired advisors to evaluate its options, including the liquidation of its assets. Its shares fell 86% after being halted for a day and a half!
