iMac Al now in stores

Apple today announced the availability of the new long awaited iMac. With no surpriside, they have Santa Rosa Core 2 duo processor with 20" or 24" display, faster graphics larger hard drive with prices at 200 dollars less than the previous line up.

iMac is aluminium made, with hi quality plastics.

It has a brand new and much compact keyboard in wire or wireless version.

Apple also announced the availability of iLife `08 and iWork `08.

iLife has been upgraded to handle larger amount of photos:

  • iPhoto:
    • now automatically arranges your photos and albums into events, which help reduces the size of the number of photos you have to handle.
    • hide options: helps you sort your photos by hidding or graying the photos you're not satisfaied with.
    • better unified search
    • more powerful editing options
    • new books and calendars printing
    • .Mac: new Web 2.0 experience and people can contribute to your Web image gallery by uploading their own photos into it so that iPhoto can synch them to your Mac -- iPhone users can also take advantage of this features. By the way, with .Mac you now get 10Gb for 99$ a year (instead of 1Gb).
  • iMovie: Entirely rewritten, from scratch, to help you make a movie in a couple of minutes.
  • iWork: Keynote and Pages have been improved. Numbers is a brand new addition, a spreadsheet the Apple way. Really impressive!
