ZiPhone: jailbreak and unlock for free all iPhone OTB versions

For OS-X (and PC, though I only describe the OS-X process):

According to the author of ZiPhone: Well, you can also use a restored phone... Or a normal in use phone... Well... whatever ! Unlock and Imei changer will work ONLY on 4.6 BL (112 and 113 ootb).

So act at your own risk. For me it has worked with no problem at all: this has been tested on an Intel Macbook running Leopard 10.5.2, iTunes 7.6, on a 1.1.2 OTB iPhone -- already upgraded to 1.1.3 -- with 04.02.13_G modem.

One thing though: youtube is not functioning. The rest of the functionalities work with no issue.

My process is as follows:

1. Download and unzip the latest 9.1Mb archive form there
2. Open up the terminal application from your Mac
3. Change to directory Download by typing: cd Download/ziphone
4. Turn off your iphone by holding the home button and the off button (on top of the iPhone)
5. With the iPhone off, hold down the home button and plug it into your cable or dock; you should now see the "Connect to iTunes" logo on the screen. iTUnes should say it has detected an iPhone in recuperation mode; just ignore for the moment. Don't quit iTunes, let him show off its dialog box as is.
6. In the terminal, type ./ziphone -a -j -u and you should have the following:

Wait about 2 minutes and 30 seconds and the iphone will reboot... That's it, you're all done, activated, jail broken and sim unlocked.

The miracle about that this -- in addition of being an extremely simple and reliable one-step process -- is that you don't require any StealthSIM or Turbo SIM anymore :)
